#8 - Rowan Moore, Faculty of Liberal Arts (Character played by M. P.)
Club or Secret Society: Les lumières Faction Devington's students - Faculty: Liberal Arts - Les lumières - Gender: any - Player's Age: any - Advices: VILLA - this character sleeps in the Villa, with camping bed and sleeping bag
Teaser: Many recognised the fear in R. Moore's eyes the day they arrived at Devington. Not many people like Moore pass the rigorous entrance examinations, and even fewer manage to endure the months that follow. And honestly, few would have bet on Moore, had they been asked for an opinion. A fragile person, frequently sad, and often for no apparent reason.
It is not uncommon, though less frequent now, for them to stay in their room during an important lecture or social activity, complaining of malaise and exhaustion. Mood swings are also not uncommon. However, in their best moments, Moore has proved wrong the detractors, and those who thought Moore would drop out after one semester have been utterly disappointed. When they are in their happy period, they achieve some of the best results in their class, especially standing out in his drama class. But now that the final exam is approaching, one can yet again glimpse those scared eyes. Some weaknesses are hard to overcome.

Les lumières
They are a secret society inspired by the myth of the cave, Plato, the Enlightenment, the Socratic method. Centred on the cult of reason, on investigation, on science, they subject themselves to tests and interrogations to get to knowledge, and to know themselves. They move in the darkness to come to see the light, and support themselves as a family in the process. They never lie. Lies and deception are not contemplated, to arrive at the Truth. They oppose all forms of mystification and, if they can, expose lies and deceptions.Relations: V. Roger, C. Lloyd and T. Saint-John Talbot are an exclusive little group whose main activities are: bragging, throwing parties, and mocking the school losers... such as you!
You owe a lot to A. Owen, without them things would have been different. They give you confidence.
You often study with J. Bennet.
Prof. Cunningham has shown interest in your school performance. Sometimes you stay to talk after class.
You knew H. Morris in high school, but you do not have fond memories of them.
#27 - Taylor Thurston, Faculty of Science (Character played by S. T.)
Club or Secret Society: Les lumières Faction Devington's students - Faculty: Science - Les lumières - Gender: any - Player's Age: any - Advices: VILLA - this character sleeps in the Villa, with camping bed and sleeping bag
Teaser: Thurston has a complex family history. They are the offspring of a couple of Public University students who conceived them shortly after learning they were Donors and then, of course, had to abandon them. Adopted and raised by a loving Gifted couple, Thurston has been extraordinarily spoilt because of their circumstances.
Thier character is rather capricious and at times benevolently manipulative. They often uses their unfortunate birth to gain favours and pity. One cannot really say that they have lived a life of deprivation, but they often exploit their history to soften their interlocutors. They have a great talent for rolling their eyes and fluttering their eyelashes: they are definitely communicative and able to generate empathy in others.
They do not know what happened to their real parents, and in fact have no desire to find out at all: they love their life as it is now.

It offended you a lot, even though these are Devington rules.
N. Cave seems to care about you. They help you when they can, and they seem to want to know your story. You accept this willingly.
In your first moments at university you bonded a lot with J. Stonehouse and M. Wilder, creating a very promising trio, formed in the weeks before classes began. However, you and Wilder were chosen for the same secret society, and Stonehouse was not. This caused you to drift apart and, in time, even exchange minor hostilities.
#28 - Morgan Wilder, Faculty of Science (Character played by S. M.)
Club or Secret Society: Les lumières Faction Devington's students - Faculty: Science - Les lumières - Gender: any - Player's Age: any - Advices: VILLA - this character sleeps in the Villa, with camping bed and sleeping bag
Teaser: Wilder comes from a modest, quiet, regular family. Their sister is a Gifted woman who has made a success out of her commitment and talent, and Wilder - after winning a scholarship - wants to follow the path that she has already blazed. Or at least that is what they have believed for a long time.
An introspective and self-doubting person, after their first years of academic success they find themself wondering what their true place in the world is. Do they want to stick to the honest mediocrity of their family, or aim for something different? There is nothing wrong with the hard work of the middle class. So why is it that simple, everyday successes do not make their life fulfilled and happy? For some time now they have been on a path of inner discovery.
Extremely idealistic and uncompromising, a trait that sometimes leads to confrontation, they live their relationships as authentically and sincerely as possible. They firmly believe in meritocracy and principles, although as they mature they are beginning to rethink what really counts.

Your trio formed in the weeks before classes began, among those students who had already arrived at Devington. However, you and Thurston ended up getting accepted to the same secret society, and Stonehouse was not. Stonehouse accused you of not doing anything to help them get admitted, they said you wanted it to be just the two of you. Slowly, that anger turned into indifference and then even a little hostility.
N. Cave's sister saved your sister by donating a kidney to her. You and Cave have had a brotherly bond ever since. Your sisters have also bonded a lot, and your families in general.
On your first day at Devington you tried to appeal to Secretary S. Warrick against the non-admission of a high school friend who had applied for a scholarship with you. You dreamed of going to Devington together, but she was not accepted. Your idealism pushed you over the edge: she had suffered an injustice. You gained nothing except for the suspicion that you had gone too far.
#43 - Therese Saint-John Talbot, Faculty of Law (Character played by B. F.)
Club or Secret Society: Les lumières Faction Devington's students - Faculty: Law - Les lumières - Gender: any - Player's Age: any - Advices: VILLA - this character sleeps in the Villa, with camping bed and sleeping bag
Teaser: Despite belonging to a noble family who are bound to the ancient traditions, Saint-John Talbot feels the need to assert themselves. Never the authoritarian sort, always the submissive introvert, they feel like they've been advancing primarily due to their heritage and family name. They have always struggled to prove their talents, but have never managed to emerge, and feels they have achieved everything in life solely because of their name.
However, their time at Devington was the beginning of a journey of self-assertion. Not only dreaming about standing out, but perhaps even trying to push themselves into the scandal, and risk losing their family and their heritage. It began with refusing admission to the Pudding Club, even though that would have been their birthright. Their first goal now is no longer to please their parents, but to understand who they really are. And then, a thought is starting slowly creeping into their minds: What if they were to join the ranks of the Donors voluntarily, to prove that they are not invisible? After all, if they died, someone would miss them. Surely someone would finally care?

Your father is often at Devington to discuss financial matters. The other benefactors are the Cavendishes, parents of and and F. Sullivan.
You are part of a popular student group, headed by V. Roger and with C. Lloyd. You like to call yourselves Coterie, a tight and exclusive little group whose main activities are: bragging, throwing parties, and mocking the school losers. Owen, E. Shaw, A. Bates, B. Henton, D. Baker, R. Moore are among your regular targets. To tell the truth, you are not so enthusiastic about it. In fact, you feel rather embarrassed about picking on others. But that's what your group does, and so far you have never objected.
R. Mace has a curious attitude towards you.
You used to be close friends with P. Campbell and you would like to rebuild this bond, but it seems that Campbell does not feel the same way. You do not understand why and you keep on insisting.
#44 - Ada Owen, Faculty of Law (Character played by N. R.)
Club or Secret Society: Les lumières Faction Devington's students - Faculty: Law - Les lumières - Gender: any - Player's Age: any - Advices: VILLA - this character sleeps in the Villa, with camping bed and sleeping bag
Teaser: There is nothing in the world more just and honest than caring for others. This is what Owen thinks, covering up their insecurities and filling the void in their soul by dedicating themself to friends and loved ones. This is the best way to avoid confronting their own shortcomings.
Extremely sensitive, they have a strong sense of right and wrong, and a very sympathetic attitude towards everyone's flaws except their own. They dream of becoming a judge to right wrongs and protect the oppressed, and they detest with all their heart the hypocrisy that characterises some of the law students.
To those who speak of a "rescue syndrome" they readily reply that there is nothing wrong with doing good. Even if it means self-denial.

A. Hamilton and V. Roger represent everything that disgusts you.
You have come to believe that I. Crooks, behind a gruff exterior, hides more than meets the eye. You have tried to get past their defences, but to no avail.
#45 - Patrick Campbell, Faculty of Law (character available)
Club or Secret Society: Les lumières Faction Devington's students - Faculty: Law - Les lumières - Gender: any - Player's Age: any - Advices: VILLA - this character sleeps in the Villa, with camping bed and sleeping bag
Teaser: If you are exposed to the company of liars for long enough, to their false smiles and sickening ulterior motives, you will eventually be unable to stand them. Like the vile stench of a covered-up murder, their lies infect and contaminate all of their actions. At least this is how Campbell feels about liars in the world. They study law so as to expose the criminals, the corrupt and the vainglorious. Perhaps this is the reason why Campbell holds photography in such high regard: The snapshots depict reality, portraying events that have occurred and from which you cannot hide. Regardless of the sophistication with which liars weave their webs of deceit, the visual medium will expose them. It is no secret that Campbell views the world cynically, expecting a hidden dagger behind every good deed. They are not usually interested in the affairs of others, unless it concerns them or their loved ones. If someone tries to hurt them, however, Campbell’s cynical nature and passion for investigation means these students can end up biting off more than they can chew. At Devington, more than a few have come to know the glare of Campbell’s watchful eye, though some have surprisingly made Campbell question their cynicism - if only a little.

This makes you happy and warms your heart, but often rekindles your old fears, making you wonder: can you really trust them?
It certainly seems that E. Howton is targeting you.
Saint-John Talbot insists on rebuilding your former friendship. But you don't know if you can trust them.
The ''perfection'' of N. Gray sometimes makes you sick.
#53 - Emily Howton, Professor of Rhetoric (Character played by M. T.)
Club or Secret Society: Les lumières Faction Professors and university staff - Faculty: Professors - Les lumières - Gender: any - Player's Age: any - Advices: VILLA - this character sleeps in the Villa, with camping bed and sleeping bag
Teaser: Young, bright, tenacious. With serious doubts tugging at their conscience.
They care more about their students than the school rules, which they often find stupid and ridiculous, perhaps because they did not study at Devington, but at a Public University, which they attended on a scholarship. Of course, at the university where they studied there were no such strange - and very often divisive - traditions. There should be no such differences among students: teachers should be impartial, not coddling those with the most prestigious or richest families.
Despite everything, they keep working at Devington. They tell themself that it is because they wants to change things from the inside, but inside they know that no other university in England would match the prestige and pay of this job. This ambivalence is like dripping water that, day after day, hollows the principles in their heart. It is a raw and painful nerve.
The character has been married for three years to someone they love very much and with whom they have recently started trying for a child. The decision they have made is very scary. As much as they think that the division between Donors and Gifted is just, they do not know if they could bear to see their child sacrificed for the nation. When they think about these doubts, these questions they cannot answer, they feel caged in falsehood, without the strength to get out of it.

You are never disrespectful, but you lose no opportunity to emphasise your point of view.
You respect R. Mace for their ideas of equality and justice.
You urge P. Campbell to overcome their cynicism and find some hope.
You appreciate the personal and modern relationship D. Jennings has with students.
